*Tutor of University of Maine's Writing Center, 2012-2014 As a tutor at UMaine, I helped students brainstorm, write, and edit his/her writing. I focused on helping students refine the clarity, cohesion, and development in his/her writing. The types of writing I most often helped with were reports and personal responses, but I also helped with resumes, funding reports, and creative writing. I helped students find and properly document research sources. I have an in depth knowledge of MLA format but can also help with other formats and citation styles. I tutor writing by asking prodding questions that guide the tutee in a direction rather than telling them what to do, guiding the tutee to independently solve problems. *Graphic Design & Writing Experience I have worked as a newspaper layout designer and as a media assistant. I have lots of digital graphics experience including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Final Cut Pro X (video), and basic web design knowledge. I can teach tutees how to use specialized software in his/her work. I have experience with creating brand identities, advertisements, interactive PDFs, and designing for both print and digital production. I have also written website posts, reports, white papers, and proposals.
