Melissa E.
Private tutor in Bozeman, MT
Education
Graduated Manhattan Christian High School in 2008, Sophomore Food and Nutrition Major with possible English Minor at MSU
Experience
I have never tutored before, but I have plenty of experience being the person all my classmates came to for proofreading papers and help with english homework. I took an AP English class my senior year, reached a score of 29 on my ACT, and maintained a GPA of 3.6-3.7 I took as many English-centered classes as I could in high school, such as journalism, theater, and creative writing; I wrote articles for the school newspaper as well as being the writing editor for my senior yearbook. I am currently the resident food writer for the Exponent, the MSU student newspaper. I am hoping for the opportunity to become a tutor because I have always had a strong talent for writing and word perception; I want to be able to teach other students the joy I feel in the expression of writing, as well as reading literature and gaining knowledge from all possible sources.

Hobbies
I'm a snowboarding Bozeman native with two strong passions in life thus far: food and writing. I love any excuse to cook a fabulous Italian dinner or write a creative story. Reading has also been one of my biggest weaknesses since I was five years old, and Shel Silverstein is one of my admired heroes. I have been given the label of nerd by most of the people i know... and I wear the badge proudly.
