I have current teaching licenses in Oregon, California and Montana and have been a classroom teacher for 4 years. I have taught 6th grade literacy, pre algebra, 6-8 social studies, math intervention and language arts intervention. I have done private tutoring for general homework help/organization, Spanish, SAT prep, math and reading. I love helping students bridge conceptual gaps in their learning. I am not just a tutor, but a teacher. It is crucial that I get to know my students in order to make content learning connect to their lives, and to understand their individual learning style. I have found that often times some students lack the confidence that they need to do well in certain subject in school because their learning style is different than what the classroom accommodates. Private tutoring can help a student regain their confidence in themselves, and get them back on track to excel.

Hobbies
I'm an avid fan of the outdoors and love to swim, bike, run, hike and just hang out in fresh air with my family and friends! My other love is books. Getting lost in a good tale is a favorite past-time of mine. When I have time I also love to craft, antique and garden!
