Experience

Tutored second grade hispanic students in english and math for one year through Partnership Academy in Richfield, Minnesota. Some light tutoring for middle school students in Equine Science through 4H. 31 on the ACT: 33 in Reading, 27 in Math, 31 in Science, 29 in Writing. I love teaching and I love talking to younger students. Tutoring is a wonderful way to combine both of those. In high school, I took honors social studies, science, and math freshman and sophmore year. Junior and senior years of high school, I studied at the local community college where I took classes in writing, history, spanish, theater, Shakespeare, and multicultural literature. When I was in 4H, I was involved in Hippology and Horse Bowl. The team I captained won the State competition in both categories and the National competition in Hippology, as there was no National competition for Horse Bowl.

Hobbies

I adore animals of all kinds, especially horses. I love to write, especially essays and short stories. I am a book worm and a biology nerd, to the core. I am very interested in genetics and statistics, and am doubling majoring in those areas. I was in theater for all 4 years of high school, and as much as I love acting, I fell in love with the behind-the-scenes work. I was also in band for 7 years, playing the clarinet and bass clarinet, and was accepted into the higher level band spring semester of my freshman year. I love talking to people younger than I am because they always have new and intriguing ideas that the older generations, like myself, have never even thought about. Elementary and high school students always bring something exciting to the table, whether or not they think they do.
